Learning New “Stuff”

I am totally a newbie to this whole blog thing but I’m willing to give it a try. After all life long learning is what keeps us young. My hope is that I will be able to keep everyone up to date on what is happening in the Learning Commons, be it new books, the HIT List, TREX, Weird Word, etc. So far I figure that I have done pretty good figuring out how to set up my “About Me” page and the “HIT List” page complete with pictures.

So the first BIG thing that happened in the Learning Commons this year was finding out that I won, we won, $2,000 from Chapters for books. Yay, I’m so excited, no limit on the books I can order this school year. So you can expect lots of new books to appear this year and if there is one you would really like to read just let me know.

The HIT List has been running for a month and the students who have been reading are enjoying the books. So if you haven’t read one yet, come on in and sign one out. Each book read is an entry into the prize draw, and we have some awesome prizes.
